Seafood & Maritime Industries Training Ltd. is a not-for-profit,
industry based provider established in 1995. It provides a range
of training programs as well as being involved in national projects
for the development of the maritime certificate curriculum.

Certificate II in Seafood Industry - Fishing Operations (Deckhand) - Enrolment Starts NOW
Date: Please contact SMIT for further information.
Cost: Fully subsidized by NT DEET
Qualification: Certificate I in Transport & Distribution (Maritime Operations)
Certificate II in Seafood Industry (Fishing Operations).
This is an 8 week (classroom and practice) program. However, it can be completed in a 4 week block 'intensive' training. Either start with Part One or Part Two 4 week intensive block. On completion, candidates will be awarded a Statement of Attainment. Full certification will ONLY be awarded once candidates have finished both Part One (first 4 week block) and Part 2 (second 4 week block) of the program.
Special Course - Dockmaster
Date: Cancelled due to trainer's illness
Venue: SMIT, Fisherman's Wharf, Darwin
Cost: $1800 per person
